Located in the shade of an enormous, ancient eucalyptus tree, Laura's Cottage, just behind the main farmhouse, is a cozy hideaway of 400 sq. ft. with its own deck next to the winter creek.

Set up studio style, it has a queen bed and a sitting area in front of a wood-burning fireplace with a hand-carved mantel. The muted blue washed walls give the impression of age and are accented by the painted base boards which pick up the design of the stained glass windows located over the bed. Of course, the cottage has a private bathroom with claw-foot tub and shower.

Oriental carpets dress up the dark hardwood floors and a 1950's Calypso Boy lamp lights up the little bay window in the front of the cottage.

This cottage has its own refrigerator, hot water tea kettle, and a beautiful (but not functional) "Detroit Jewel" stove. Those who appreciate attention to detail will enjoy exploring the little desk and reviewing the 1938 financial journals of San Francisco banker Monroe Bloom, who notes that to wash, starch and press a shirt cost ten cents!
